Tony Fernandez has worked in the insurance industry for 14 years. He started selling insurance in 1996 with a life and health company. After that, he became an American Family agent. In 2004, having lost hope in captive insurance agencies, he founded AAI to help people get the coverage they need at a price they can afford. Tony is passionate about helping people. In addition to insurance, he invests time and resources helping children in the Dominican Republic and Haiti by sending medical supplies and equipment to local hospitals.

Lissa Fernandez started in the insurance industry in 2000. In 2004, she and her husband, Tony, fed up with sending desperate people away, decided that the captive insurance industry was not for them. She and Tony founded AAI in 2004. In addition to insurance, Lissa is the mother of two boys, Stefan and Chris.

Before joining AAI, James Switzer served as a U.S. Navy officer in cryptology and intelligence for 25 years. He has served in Spain, Italy, Canada, and Japan. After retiring from the Navy, he worked in the Accounting Department of the Regional Transportation District and then as Office Manager for Kelly’s Excavating. He joined AAI in 2007.

Chris Fernandez has worked in Affordable American Insurance since it started. During those year Chris has developed tools for Affordable American Insurance that has put the company at the forefront of technology in the industry.

With over 26 years experience in commercial & personal lines property & casualty insurance industry, Steve has experience in recruiting, training, and providing successful strategies for agency growth. He has a specialty is sales growth & profitability with an emphasis on managing the relationships between agency carrier partners and the individual independent agencies affiliated with our company. He also has a strong background experience in successful evaluation and selection of agent associates to partner with, marketing, agent licensing, and training functions.
